Lakeshore Trailhead Event, “Bicycles & Barbeque” May 25th

“The City of Deltona invites the bicycling public to ride the East Central Regional Rail Trail on Saturday May 25th, and stop by the Deltona Community Center between 10:00am and 2:00pm to enjoy good food, and easy listening music.
Admission is free to the event, “Bicycles & Barbeque” which takes place at the Community Center, located at 980 Lakeshore Drive. The Deltona Community Center was recently designated by the State’s Office of Greenways & Trails as an Official Trailhead for the Rail Trail.

For visitors riding bicycles, the Center, on the north shore of Lake Monroe, is easy to reach by bike ride on the new Lakeshore Loop Trail that connects to the Rail Trail at Thornby Park and Green Springs Park. There will be vehicle parking for people bringing their bikes, at Thornby Park on Providence Boulevard and Green Springs Park on Lakeshore Drive.

Food vendors include Jake’s BBQ, and music entertainment will be provided by the group “Two’s Company.” In addition, JC’s Bikes & Boards will be at the event with items for sale, as well as providing bike rentals, repairs and safety checks.

This segment of the Rail Trail is a merge of two larger multi-county trails—the Coast to Coast Connector Trail that goes from St. Petersburg to Titusville, and the St. Johns River2Sea Loop Trail. This trail is also a continuation of the County’s Spring to Spring Trail. The length of the Rail Trail, from DeBary to Osteen is located in one of central Florida’s Nature & Historic Corridor, home to Enterprise, one of the oldest communities in the State.
Guided historic bicycle tour through the community of Enterprise, starting at 10:30am

Guided “family-friendly” paced bicycle ride through Green Springs Park and the Regional Rail Trail, starting at 12:30pm

Deltona has 22 beautiful parks, with 8 more in progress, with nature trails and three paved cycling trails. Please join our upcoming Event on May 25th at the Deltona Community Center and the new “Lakeshore Trailhead” at

980 Lakeshore Drive in Deltona Florida. A City on the Move!”
