Community Gardening in Deltona, grow your own fruits and vegetables. It’s your garden!

Did you know that #Deltona has a community garden? Founded in 2016, Deltona Community Gardens is located at
675 Elgrove Drive Next to Vann Park.

   You can have a garden of your own! It only takes “Sweat & Seeds” You may also learn about beekeeping, #gardening, canning/food preservation and more at the learning center. With plans for an environmental walking path, #butterfly garden and picnic area… Deltona Community Gardens needs your support. Please visit today and get your garden growing.

   New and experienced gardeners will be able to rent a garden bed and grow their own healthy food. Deltona Community Gardens has ground raised beds as well as elevated beds for those with special needs. We will also be tending some garden beds so that we can share the harvest with others in the community. Enjoy the amazing butterfly garden, which is a new addition. Those that are interested can sign up to help with butterfly activities. This will be the place for people to learn about gardening, get involved and share information/ideas about gardening.

   To strengthen our community by providing a learning environment to meet and share our cultural experiences and enjoy the benefits of growing a garden and taking it from seed to table.

Audubon Society put together some helpful hints on what we can do to keep ourselves happy and productive while fighting the Corona Virus through quarantine. Try “Backyard Birding”

Join the staff of Deltona Parks & Recreation for a Holiday Hoops Basketball Camp over Thanksgiving break at Wes Crile Park. The camp is for boys and girls, ages 6 to 13 and will be from 9 a.m. to noon, daily.
Nov. 25-27, in the Wes Crile Gymnasium, 1537 Norbert Terrace.

Cost is $25 per child, cash or check only accepted at Wes Crile or in the Deltona Parks & Recreation Office at City Hall, 2345 Providence Boulevard. Participants are asked to bring a water bottle and an extra shirt. For more information, email ssingletary@deltonafl.gov

Deltona BIZ Fest 2019

Join us on October 30th for Deltona BIZ Fest 2019

On October 30th, 2019 we will be conducting our annual Deltona BIZ Fest. This is an incredible opportunity to market your business and to find resources for your business. Breakfast will be provided and we will be having a special seminar session with the President of Daytona State College, Dr. Tom LeBlasso. Dr. LeBlasso will be sharing business and educational insights as well as new information on the expansion of Daytona State College’s Deltona Campus.

All of the action begins at 7:30am so Rise & Shine ladies and gentlemen! It’s time to get to work. The Deltona BIZ Fest 2019 will be held at The Center at Deltona, Deltona’s new Community Center located at 1640 Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd. in Deltona.

The City of Deltona has a booming economy, one of the fastest growing in the country.

Campuses like Bethune-Cookman University are offering courses to students through the Center for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development. The Center for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (CEED) supports economic development through education with an entrepreneurial approach. THE EXTENDED DAY ENRICHMENT PROGRAM

EDEP is offered at 41 Volusia County Elementary Schools. The EDEP offers a safe environment with supervised after-school enrichment activities including, but not limited to, homework monitoring, tutoring, community service projects, arts and crafts, music, drama, outside recreational activities and much more! Currently, almost 3800 students attend Volusia County Schools EDEP. Each program also uses an after school literacy program, KidzLit, to help build students’ comprehension and vocabulary development.
